The congee village is a decent Cantonese restaurant in Manhattan. It's well decorated with Chinese elements and well served. Waiters and waitresses speak Cantonese and respond fast. When I was there, I heard some guests speak good of their food quality. Overall I would recommend you check it out. We try a few traditional Cantonese dishes: like pork with salted fish, Gai Lan and the congee and the fish in the clay pot. It's not too surprising but still good to try. Especially the fish and the veggies, the quality is there and expected. The pork pancake with salted fish is a bit disappointing in a way that I cannot taste any salted fish in it but just plain pork pancake.

Walked in on a Thursday night and was seated right away. We ordered Peking pork chop, eggplant fish casserole, xiao long bao, string beans and beef chow fun for our party of 3. The food came out quickly and all dishes were delicious! I enjoyed the food but one down side to the atmosphere is that it was incredibly loud where we were sitting and I could barely hear my friends. At one point we were yelling bc that was the only way we could remotely hear one another. I had to give it 4 stars due to that factor, but if you are in another part of the restaurant on a slowly evening perhaps you won't run into that issue.

Solid 3.5! Food is good, but it is expensive for what it is. Inside is nice and service was good. Their porridge is much better than other places (which is hope considering is much more expensive). I was craving the honey walnut shrimp but it was lacking. I wish they coated it in the sauce instead of just adding the sauce on top. It felt disjointed and not as flavorful because of that.

I have been going to this place for a couple of years now and the food has always been good. I came here on a Saturday night and it was packed and very loud. There were at least 4 tables with large groups. Even though I couldn't hear myself talk with all that noise, the food made up for it. I usually get my favorites which is the minced beef congee, XO rice roll, sautéed snow peas leaf with garlic. Everything was delicious! The food in this location is much better than the one in Flushing. I left very happy and full!

So spacious, portion size is huge, and speedy service! Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had a private room with karaoke service. The meat dishes + the meat in the congee is a bit salty, but everything else was very yummy! Would recommend getting a reservation beforehand because it does get crowded fast!

This is an absolutely amazing place and I can rep this as a cantonese person myself but it is insanely high quality food here. If you share a table you wait much less than if you were to get a private table and we were just sat next to a couple of 2 so it's definitely not private but definitely doable! The table is so large it won't even matter. The restaurant itself is wooden and reminds me of an old timey bar. We got 3 non alcoholic drinks to begin with and i must say the lychee ice is the best as it contains condensed milk. I got the honeydew juice and our friend got a regular orange juice. From top to bottom, these were our favorite foods Crab - we got the cold version and it was so fresh tasting and was the highlight of the meal. it made us all happy Half crispy chicken - my all time favorite, absolutely so crispy and so worth while and tasty fried noodles - my all time favorite as well... this was done so well because typically places that are actually cantonese will make the noodles thin and crispy, other places have regular noodles. String beans - so flavorful! I highly recommend these! Fried Buns - a classic and so good Honestly everything was sooooo good and I just cannot hold my positivity for this place. At the end you'lln get an herbal jelly after finishing the meal as a complimentary dessert which is a cantonese classic!

Been going here for years for big family celebrations. Super fast and super delicious Cantonese cooking. Has corkage fee so we generally just get a few bottle of beers. Speedy service , not the friendliest but I'm not there for friendly- just to eat Favorite dishes - crispy chicken, salt fried squid, whole fish, lobster Clean but annoying that bathrooms require stair use- bad for elderly

This place is my go-to restaurant for family gatherings. The design of this restaurant is "sea" themed I believe because there's a small water area where you can see fish swimming around and there's a wooden staircase to enter the upstairs dining. The employees are extremely nice and recently our lobster fried rice did take a couple of extra minutes to come out. However, the staff handled the situation properly and we also got complimentary fruit and sweet soup which was nice. The food here is flavorful and perfect for family-style.

Always a solid food choice in Chinatown. Large portions and great options for veggies. We went early for dinner however once we left there was a huge crowd waiting for a table. So a tip is to definitely arrive early! This is large restaurant with multiple floors and many large tables, I feel like it caters more to large groups. We ordered the water spinach in bean paste, tofu in soy sauce and the mushroom noodles. I loved the water spinach, who doesn't love this classic! The tofu was also very well cooked with a nice roasted texture outside, not fried. However the mushroom noodles dish was literally just a bowl of noodles. It barely had any mushrooms. Overall the prices are good, portions are huge and all shareable.
